All of my life I had been told what I should do with my life. What career I should pursue. My father always reminded me that I needed a good job and the proper college degree to make it anywhere in life. I came to realize that, that simply wasn't the case -- there were plenty of content of successful adults that never stuck to the status quo: rather, they made the choices that were self-fulfilling, and that led them to the truest versions of themselves. It taught me that my metric of success should be my metric of happiness.
