About this submission

This is a deeply personal film which gives insight into the 'New Ireland' and the communities which it represents today.

We follow Adaeze; an Irish-Nigerian young women, as another tragic miscarriage sends her life out of kilter leaving her torn between guilt, religious obligations and revealing the truth of an ill-fated medical diagnosis to her loving husband.

I felt that there was an underrepresentation of the Irish-Nigerian community in Irish film and I wanted to address that by telling a universal narrative that dealt with themes of stigma, expectation and closure.
