About this submission
This project was a final assignment in a class studying the work of Robert Richardson. For our short films we were asked to create a piece that reflected on and engaged with Richardson’s visual style. In studying his body of work I was struck by the way Mr. Richardson uses minimal, high contrast lighting compositions (often single-source) as well as his pension for combining different film stocks within the same film, often for flashbacks. Using these visual traits as my inspiration, I wanted to tell a story about a stranger who isn’t what he appears to be.
