About this submission

From my day job working with those in recovery from addiction, I frequently hear that the reason they try to overcome their demons stems from a sense of guilt for the harm they are doing to themselves and those around them. From this, and my own nasty habits with smoking, Smoking Kills was born.

I wanted to externalise these feelings of guilt addicts face by manifesting the addiction as something that literally kills others; using the typical smoker's journey to quit as a framing device to tell a unique but familiar horror story that is known by far too many.
