About this submission

Hello! I'm a working actor and writer with many facets that I rarely have a chance to explore on film, hence this parody mockumentary of my life auditioning. I have also worked for the BBC for twenty years, reporting for, and producing radio programs from around the world. I currently live in both Philadelphia and London, and I work regularly in New York.

Last year, I was invited to the Sundance Institute's Philadelphia Screenwriters' Intensive to work on my feature screenplay, Mother Mary. Some of my other writing work: a radio drama podcast, Geste, and a webseries, A Ladies' Guide to Making Conversation More Interesting. I'm currently in pre-production of a short film, Signs of Aging, which I wrote and will direct. It's a dark comedy about ageism in the beauty industry. Most of my writing explores complex women in the modern western world.

Some of my favorite acting credits include: Horace and Pete, The Blacklist and Orange is the New Black, directed by Jodie Foster. I'm a member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, British Actors' Equity and Mensa.

As I mentioned, I'm primarily and actor and writer, so I used this challenge to work on other filmmaking skills: directing, shooting, sound recording and editing (though I'll admit I did give myself some leeway by conceiving a low-tech mockumentary!) I welcome all feedback on this short film, and especially welcome any tips on improving the technical side of my filmmaking. Thank you!
