About this submission
Phyllis MacBryde began her as an actor (trodding the boards from Circle in the Square in NYC to Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., national tours and scrappy summer stock) and branched into writing. She is a Nicholl Fellowship finalist, a recipient of Montage Entertainment's Diversity in Screenwriting Award, and author of a forthcoming novel (a William Faulkner-William Wisdom Award finalist). A produced playwright, she is the recipient of the North Carolina Playwright Fellowship, among other writing awards, and has written three original musicals with composer, Roger Bartlett.
