About this submission

Making Seedie's Boys was a winding road that led me to my current position as an editor with Terrence Malick. Several months ago I wrote him a letter expressing my gratitude for his films, and included a link to "Seedie's Boys." I've been working with him since then, which has been an honor and a joy.

Seedie’s Boys is set in a hidden quarry in the Bronx. As Seedie navigates relationships with her grandfather and two boyfriends, she recalls the memory of her mother. The film emerges less a coming of age story than a meditation on longing.
