Ophelia is of Italian-Canadian descent, originally hailing from Southern Ontario. Her films often explore the dynamism between sacrifice & love, women, and themes of culture & family. Since a member of her family suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity, Ophelia grew up in a home with strict limits on technological access. Thus, she regards film as a privilege. Her work reflects that she is often inspired to invoke art from her personal experiences and natural surroundings.
