About this submission

I wanted to tell a story that evokes the discontent I’ve felt as a gay man in its most extreme form. I wanted to capture just how taxing it is to try to present yourself authentically in an often unsympathetic, hypercritical world. I wanted to articulate how the stress of being uncharitably scrutinized and ostracized for some intrinsic part of yourself can compound and culminate in profound disillusionment. Through erratic noise and color, this film is an effort to distill this specific kind of anxiety down to its most eerie and abrasive essence.
