Muttering on the Road is a black and white silent film created with the goal of abolishing the barrier between documentary and fiction filmmaking. It provides the audience with limited sensory information and encourages them to use their full imagination to interpret the real-life event shown on the screen. The film addresses that moviemaking is a collaborative activity between an artist and their audience; it rejects the unidirectional practice where the filmmaker preaches a certain message to their viewers and the viewers soak it up without being given the opportunity to generate their own meaning out of the watching experience.
