About this submission
While tattooing me, my artist spoke of the time he inked Pablo Escobar's top hitman. Having escaped the gang life himself, my artist asked him what it was like to take over 300 lives. The hitman replied he was a soldier and he killed as any other soldier would for their general. This concept provided a way for me to explore my attempt to move on from a past I was not proud of in a way which wasn't trite. I actually witnessed a Gang members anonymous while helping to film a teen drug prevention video at a rehab center.
