About this submission

Suman is a young man living with his family of five in a cramped, middle-class house. Troubled by frequent taunts from his unsupportive parents, he attempts to take his own life. Lokkhon Rekha is a film that exposes the vein of generational trauma that has shaped their lives.
The film is an attempt to portray empathetic gaps prevalent in Indian households, which have their roots deep in patriarchy and toxic expectations. It was also made in order to enable conversations on mental health, which have consistently remained taboo in the country.
