About this submission

This piece was a project for my Shakespeare-based acting class, and the assignment was to use the texts we explored in the class to create something new. I devised a reimagining of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar if both Brutus and Caesar
were interviewed documentary-style by the soothsayer who predicts Caesar’s
assassination. Using text from Mark Antony's "Friends, Roman, Countrymen" speech, Julia's monologue from Two Gentleman of Verona, and Gretchen Weiners's Julius Caesar monologue from Mean Girls, I made a comedic skit about a "Brutus" who is thirsty for Caesar's blood, and a naive "Caesar" who is blissfully ignorant.
