About this submission

This PSA serves as an introduction to gender issues. Gender issues is a social topic that really resonates within my heart. As I’ve gone through my life, I have seen and heard many of the struggles that women have faced either through direct observation or them telling me directly of their experiences. The hardships that women have to face as they go through their daily lives, simply because of their gender, is wrong. I hope that this PSA highlights some of the issues that women have to face, as well as spread a message of hope and change for the future. The screenplay for this PSA was written in one day and edited for seven days after having discussions with many different types of peers. Casting and location scouting were done over the course of seven days. Filming was done over the course of six days and editing took five days. Thank you to my phenomenal cast and crew, I couldn’t have done any of this without their help, open communication, and dedication to the message that we are trying to share. All cast and crew took safety and health precautions due to the current pandemic during filming. Thank you all for your time and I hope you all enjoy the PSA. I recently got into directing and filmmaking back in May of 2020 during the beginning of the quarantine period. Prior to directing, I got my Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2017 and moved immediately to Los Angeles after graduating to pursue my passion of acting. I have been studying at The Second City Hollywood for the last year and am currently enrolled in their acting conservatory program. I hope to create stories and characters that challenge people to think about and question their own perspectives on life, society, and health. more...
