About this submission

Fragments is an animated, semi-autobiographical story documenting the journey of a young girl trying to navigate her biracial identity, broken home and the society that doesn't accept her. This short was created independently by Adekemi Roluga during the Covid-19 pandemic and she narrates her own experiences growing up as a mixed-race child.

Creator
Adekemi Roluga is a 21-year-old, Afro-British writer-director, who thrives on telling diverse and minority stories, focusing on topics of diversity, social realism, social injustice, and sexuality in all creative forms. She is an alumnus of the Manchester/NFTS BFI Film academies and Bournemouth University, where her graduate film, Fragments, screened at various festivals nationwide.
