About this submission
Archival documentary narrated in song. In September 2003, my mother was airlifted out of our flooded neighborhood in rural Virginia as she was about to go into labor with her fourth child. This child would be born on the same day as the rest of my siblings and I.
This film is the first chapter of a larger project reflecting on my childhood growing up in a rural, isolated, magic place as my siblings and I explore our identities as young adults. This wild coincidence of shared birthdays has provided a magic window to reexamine my own story through.
