About this submission

DRAMA MAMA explores unexpected pregnancy in a fresh off-kilter way. At times funny, at times sad, our protagonist's panic is something I think most women have experienced. And this piece questions the humor that it showcases. In film, there is a tendency to write women facing difficulty as clownish, as trivial and droll. But what’s behind that? What's the sting of the slap in slap-stick? That’s what I wanted to explore with DRAMA MAMA.
