I ‘ve written eight full-length plays, five screenplays, two one act plays and more than a dozen ten-minute plays. My screenplay, SCABS, based upon my original ten-minute play that was a finalist at the Humana Short Play Contest, received the Best Short Screenplay Award, October 2018, at the Oaxaca Film Festival, Best Screenplay at the Atlanta Comedy Film Festival and Best Television Comedy Episode at the 2018 Portland Comedy Film Festival. I’ve worked on two film productions (many commercial productions in New York and Chicago). Two of my ten-minute plays were produced at the Tampa Bay Theatre Festival in 2017 and 2019. One of them, Fourth-Quarter Quarter Pick-Up, has been optioned by the filmmaker, Jeffrey VanDavis. I have a BA in Journalism and MA in Communications from the University of Alabama plus an MBA from the University of Buffalo plus, over thirty hours of in-class, creative writing . I studied with American Book Award winner, Bob Shacochis, playwright Janet Burroway, Marlon Barton (O. Henry Finalist), and poet Peter Huggins. I participated in workshops with Joseph Chaikin and several DG Workshops in LA and New York. I completed online courses, Master Playwriting with Andrea Lepcio and the Songwriter’s Circle with Roland Tech. My stories, poetry, essays and illustrations have appeared in newspapers, international journals and literary magazines, I’m also a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada and the Dramatist Guild. My career goals? To keep writing and maybe, sell a couple of my screenplays, including the most recent historical drama.
