This film was written a few months after my grandfather passed away - at the time, I was trying to make sense of what I was feeling, especially the regret of not having been able to spend more time with him or even say a proper goodbye. I wanted to find catharsis and to share a universal story about grief. What better way to do that than to make a film about a goldfish dying?
Tiffany Lin is a Taiwanese-American filmmaker born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. A 2020 graduate of USC’s film and television production program, Tiffany has worked extensively across both live action and animation, as well as virtual reality. Recently, a short film that she wrote was selected as a semifinalist for the 2020 Student Academy Awards; her other work has screened in many festivals both domestically and internationally.
